Predictive parameters for managing hypotension in the perioperative setting

Dr Simon Davies is a Consultant Anaesthetist from the York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. 

Clinical commitments include anaesthesia for major surgery, and preoperative assessment. His interests include the role of exercise testing and biomarkers in risk stratification prior to major surgery, perioperative fluid therapy and the role of inotropes, cardiac output monitoring, and measuring outcomes following surgery. Strong research interests in collaboration with his colleagues and completed his MD in Feb 2013.

Professor Monty Mythen completed his UK anaesthesia fellowship (FRCA) in 1990, and then went on to gain an MD in 1995 and was appointed assistant professor at Duke University Medical Centre, North Carolina, USA before returning to the UK. He has a wide range of research interests including; peri-operative fluid management and trans-oesophageal Doppler, haemostasis in the critically ill, endotoxin and endotoxin immunity and the determinants of post-operative morbidity and mortality.

Predictive parameters for managing hypotension in the perioperative setting

Laurence Weinberg is a staff anaesthetist at Austin Hospital. His clinical and research interests  include anaesthesia for cardiac and hepatobiliary surger y including liver transplantation. He is the  chief investigator for SPLIT-Major-Surgery study, which compared a buffered crystalloid solution to  saline on the incidence of acute kidney injury in over 1000 patients. His presentation will provide a contemporary overview of perioperative acute kidney injury including identification of risk factors, recognition of AKI, management, and outcomes.
